The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the associated HITECH Act govern the ways in which Covered Entities and Business Associates are to treat sensitive information which is often referred to as Protected Health Information, or PHI.

navitend’s consulting team works with our Covered Entity clients to ensure compliance with the requirements of HIPAA and HITECH. This starts with an annual Risk Analysis and subsequent remediation steps to address any gaps. Some aspects of HIPAA/HITECH are “Required” while others are “Addressable”. navitend provides guidance to make sure that all requirements are met in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
