My Journey into Content Marketing Management

My Journey into Content Marketing Management

My Marketing Journey

I simply wanted to tell you why I’ve started using CoSchedule, the fastest growing marketing management software and how it’s helping me in my job.

I started my journey at navitend close to 7 years ago.  I was hired as an administrative and sales support assistant and then eventually moved into a business development and marketing role.  It has been an exceptional journey and as you would expect, my goals and visions have changed. One particular goal is to share our blog content and still provide other marketing activities.

Balancing my many job commitments including creating new content, blogging, producing video content, conducting market research, implementing marketing strategies and helping brand navitend can be pretty tricky, especially when you throw ‘life’ and ‘family’ into the mix.  We all know it can be a juggling act and can certainly be challenging at times.

Several years ago while having a cup of coffee with another business friend of mine I was explaining that I needed some help organizing my blogging content schedule as it was getting too overwhelming for me.  I wanted to try and implement an editorial calendar of some sort but I wasn’t so sure how to do that and I definitely didn’t have a lot of money to spend.

He told me about CoSchedule and said to try their 14-day trial.  Well… that changed my life!  I started with a basic package and back then I was only using CoSchedule to do social media post scheduling.  It was basic but it was still a huge help at the time.  Now that I am working full-time in the marketing side here at navitend I’m able to utilize these amazing services including: Reporting and Analytics, Automated Publishing, Content Management, Task Management, and so much more. The social media channels include: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr.

What is CoSchedule?

CoSchedule is an all-in-one marketing calendar that brings your content and social media together into one place.  It organizes every aspect of your content, helps track your marketing strategies, and allows you to communicate and collaborate with the people on your team.

With CoSchedule, you can organize and manage your blog posts, social media posts, email marketing, tasks and to-do-lists, and analytics from a single platform.

How CoSchedule helps me at navitend

CoSchedule helps me to increase my productivity and saves me a ton of time.

I can get more marketing activities done and have become more organized using CoSchedule.

Before CoSchedule I would have to juggle from multiple marketing platforms and could get confused or easily sidetracked forgetting where I left off.  Did I do a post on Ransomware and Cybersecurity this week? This month?

I would write blogs through my website and then I’d have to schedule each blog separately on each marketing channel/social media platform’s site I was using.  We currently use Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram and posting to 4 different social media channels several times per day or per week can certainly get overwhelming. With CoSchedule I can post the URL link to my blog post and select the different social media channels to post on with specific dates and times.  It's very simple.

And I can’t forget email marketing; I had to keep all of my campaigns in Mailchimp and keep track of them separately.

I was spending at least a third of my time navigating and bouncing around from platform to platform just to get things done.  This was a total waste of my time and I was unable to really get the feeling of accomplishment because I’d just have to do it all over again the next day.

With CoSchedule, I’ve been able to do all these tasks and more all in one place and it was so easy to learn.  I took about 4 hours one day and watched a bunch of quick tutorials and set up my editorial calendar.  Now I spend about 2 hours each week reviewing our content and making sure our calendar is full.   Using CoSchedule allows me to plan content for days, weeks, and even months in advance and I can share it with my marketing team so they know upcoming content postings and campaigns.

Integrations

CoSchedule has many integrations into their platform like MailChimp where you can gain visibility into your email strategy and draft new campaigns.  I can plan my email marketing campaigns in MailChimp and they show up on my CoSchedule Calendar which I build into my marketing strategy.  I love this feature.

Pricing?

Pricing is pretty simple with CoSchedule.   There are 3 main pricing categories.  Blog Calendar, which I did for several years prior to moving to the Marketing Calendar option.  For $14 you can certainly utilize the social media posting and automation of your calendar.  Take it up a notch to $29 which gives you the realtime marketing calendar feature along with the full social media management, custom views of the calendar, ability to share your calendar with others on your team, and ease or rescheduling posts and projects.

Today I would not hesitate to say that CoSchedule is one of the best investments you can make for your business. As far as time-management, scheduling, and remote working (yes there’s an app) go.

Evaluate the cost of this tool vs your sanity and ask yourself these few questions.

1. What do you want to get out of our marketing calendar?

2. How valuable is your time?

3. Can your budget allow for signing up to CoSchedule?

I hope you found this review post somewhat useful.

Take this opportunity to check it out especially since they give you a 14 day trial period, you have nothing to lose.

I enjoy using the CoSchedule marketing platform, as it fits my marketing environment needs here at navitend.  Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions related to how I use this tool in my marketing plan.
