Is it on Backwards?

Ever have something that works great, and then you realize that you weren't actually using it the right way? Yes, it could actually be working better!

During a recent visit with my son, we were talking about various things going on in our lives. Now, I talk to him nearly every day, so this wasn't a big catch up, it was just kind of day to day stuff that you do when you connect. 

He likes to workout and stay fit. I like to pretend to run -- I even have a watch with an app to prove just how much improvement I have ahead of me in this area. We'll share the results of our workouts together via one app or another. Kind of geeky dad/son stuff. But awesome.

At one point in our conversation, he says to me, "Did you know that your watch band is on backwards?"

I replied with something very technical like, "Huh, what are you talking about?"

Sure enough, one of the watch bands was installed backwards. I guess that is what happens when you buy a watch online during a pandemic, put it together yourself, (maybe have marginal eyesight), and never compare notes with someone who knows what they're talking about. He used to work in an Apple store, so I am going to label him the expert on this topic. We quickly reversed it and sure enough, it fits better!

As demonstrated by my watch-assembly skills, we all need some outside input on a regular basis. Even if we are getting value from an investment, there may be more water in that well.
