Compressing (Zipping) Files/Folders into Zip Files
Zip files are folders or files that have been compressed to save space, usually in an effort to make emailing or downloading the files a quicker process. Follow along with these steps to create your own "zipped" folders:
1. Browse to the directory that contains the files you wish to compress into a zip file.
2. Select the files you wish to compress (press Ctrl+A to select all files in a folder).
3. Right-click one of the selected files.
4. Choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
5. It may take a few moments to compress all of the files, but a new “zipped” folder will appear in the same directory.
6. Type a name for the zip file and press Enter.
Decompressing (Unzipping) Zip Files
The zip file can be later be decompressed (unpacked); follow along with these steps:
1. Browse to the directory containing the zip file you wish to decompress.
2. Right-click the zip file and choose "Extract All..."
3. Click "Browse" and select where you would like to extract the contents of the zip file.
4. Click "Extract".
