In many cases, the biggest cybersecurity risk to an organization is their own employees. We have heard the horror stories: someone clicking a link in a phishing email and infecting the whole network with ransomware, or accidentally wiring money to an imposter. The most effective training platforms include several components:

First, Security training, typically taken annually, is an important cornerstone for properly educating your employees. Security training should cover the most relevant threats against employees including phishing.

Second, simulated phishing attacks. These emails are sent against your own employees, are designed to help you assess your employee’s ability to identify phishing emails in the real world. Designed to look like actual real-world phishing scenarios, these reenforce the training materials by practical application.

Third, reporting and assessment. A training platform should provide feedback to management about how people are doing with training. It should help to give un understanding of how the training is reducing risk for the organization.
