Sometimes it is convenient to place two windows side by side on your desktop such that they each consume exactly half of the available screen space. This side-by-side configuration is particularly useful in situations where information must be both read and commented on simultaneously.
FollowAlong with these steps to learn how to quickly "snap" a window to either the right or left side of the screen in Windows 7.
- Select the first window that you want to appear on either the left or right side of the screen
- Press and hold the Windows key (located between Ctrl and Alt), then press either the Right or Left arrow keys (depending on if you want the window to snap to the left or right side of the screen)
- Repeat the process for a second window, but choose the opposite arrow key to snap it to the other side of your desktop
To unsnap a window and restore it back to its original size, simply reverse the above process.
